How to get the remote people fully involved when some of you are in the office

   Watch Promo

Avoid hybrid meeting disasters and create meetings that work for everyone regardless of where they are.

Hybrid meetings are some of the most challenging meetings to run. Suc- cess often requires the equivalent of planning three meetings at once: the in-person event, the virtual meeting, and a way of interacting that brings these together in real time.

When you implement the strategies you learn in this quick-tips course, you will run hybrid meetings that are engaging and successful, and avoid the many traps that dramatically reduce their effectiveness and harm your reputation.

Hybrid is here to stay. Do you have what you need to excel?

  • Do you struggle to get people participating and answering questions when they call in to your meetings?
  • Do you know people stop paying attention and therefore don't retain information needed for later in their work?
  • Does the energy drain out of your meetings with remote participants, so you can't get issues resolved in one meeting and need yet another meeting to get there?
  • Do you worry that, as the meeting leader, you're not honoring both virtual and face-to-face meeting participants?

If these all-too-common challenges sound familiar, you're in the right place.

This course will teach you to run engaging hybrid meetings.

Definition of a Hybrid Meeting:
A meeting
where most people are in the room together and a few participants are remote.

Any leader, facilitator, manager, or coach will find this an invaluable source of guidance on how to make your hybrid meetings interesting, useful, and productive experiences that help you get things done.

What You Get

The six main video sections are supported by quick quizzes to test your understanding of the material, exercises to help you relate your learning to your real-life practice, and a workbook that includes tips, summaries and references.

"Highly recommended. There are some excellent practical ideas for making those awful hybrid meetings more effective. I particularly liked the basic approach of planning ‘remote first’.

"The course is well organised and structured with excellent, clear materials. I like the way it’s broken up into shorter ‘chunks’ so you can take a break if you need one - although it’s less than an hour long so probably not necessary."

- Caroline Frost, Learning And Development Consultant

Judy Rees has introduced scores of trainers, coaches, and facilitators to the joy of live online training – including within large organisations such as the RSA.

For the last three years, she’s been the host of one of the world’s first online-video unconferences, Metaphorum, which connects 150 people around the world in a 13-hour live-learning marathon. As a news editor, and later as a media executive, she also managed large remote teams for many years.

The co-author of Clean Language: Revealing Metaphors And Opening Minds, she is a regular keynote speaker at Agile and other events around the world.

Steve McCann has spent more than three decades leading, managing and collaborating with teams and people in high risk and disparate places - as an Army Officer, in the UN and for fifteen years in humanitarian risk management.

Increasingly this has included more and more remote and hybrid communication, where the opportunities to miscommunicate increase with the dislocations of place, time and culture.

Direct experience of the cost and misery created by avoidable communication failures have made him a strong advocate of the learnable strategies and practical actions for great human-to-human communication shared here in Meeting School.
